Memory on the Menu

Which good memories are better — the recent and vivid ones, or those that time has covered in a sweet haze?

Well, isn’t any memory a good one. That at least means that you still have a memory. I think the ones covered in that sweet haze bring a bit more pleasure simply because they are pondered over more…or at least I ponder over them more. The bright vivid ones are more of a stark reminder I think. A memory lingers on…kind of sways back and forth, and then the flood gates open and you recall it all.

I certainly have memories of both kinds. And although I tend to recall the more recent, my husband is amazing at recalling the old. Together, it completes our story and makes for a lifetime of memories. I hope I never loose them…or at the very least, if I start to make them up that they are good and happy ones with an amazing story to be told.
