While walking on the beach you stumble on a valuable object buried in the sand — say, a piece of jewelry or an envelope full of cash. What do you do with it? Under what circumstances would you keep it?
Losers weepers! HA!! I so remember that from when I was little. It was as if you’d struck gold. Anyway…on to today’s
So…I’m walking on a beach and suddenly decide I’m going to stop and start digging because one never knows, but something just might be buried here where I’m stopping. So, I dig with my hands (I didn’t bring tools…it was a spur of the moment thought) and I dig and I dig and all of sudden, I find money! Whoo Hoo!! But now the hard part…do I keep it?
Alright, the analytical part of me totally thinks this through. First off, you are on a beach, which chances are if you are there makes it a public place. Second, who would bury anything in the sand and then walk away…have you ever heard of such a claim…no, me either.
Now there are many circumstances in which I would definitely attempt to find the rightful owner, but in this case, if I found money buried in the sand, I would just keep it. True story….my mom and I were in a casino once and found a stack of money on the ground near some machines. We went to the front desk to turn it in, but they wouldn’t even take it. So we split it and gave it right back in the form of the nickel slots!
