Longing for Gravity

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/longing-for-gravity

You are on a mission to Mars. Because of the length of of the journey, you will never be able to return to Earth. What about our blue planet will you miss the most?

So does spending the rest of your days on Mars mean that we are that much closer to Heaven? I’m not sure I would trade Earth for Mars even if it was closer. There’s to much here to be missed, beside the extreme climate change.

First, I would miss the colors. From what I know of Mars…it’s red. And I would miss the seasons. I’m fortunate to live where there are four seasons, and I love that. Each has a beauty so unique to itself, yet one season cannot happen without the others.

I would miss water too…and considering Mars isn’t a developed planet, well, I would miss all the day to day things I have access to here. I would just miss life in general.

I’ll pass on this adventure to the red planet. Someone else can have my ticket.
