Howl At The Moon

Follow your inner moonlight; don’t hide the madness.” — Allen Ginsberg

Do you follow Ginsberg’s advice — in your writing and/or in your everyday life?

Writing is my escape. Not from reality, but simply to be able to put down how and what I am feeling. Some of what I write I love sharing, but some of it is for my eyes only.

For me, writing helps me to sometimes feel what the world won’t allow. If I’m mad or really upset, writing gives me an outlet to put it all down, without anyone knowing. I’m amazed at how much better I can feel after I write. My attitude and mood are usually much improved.

I also love writing because I never have to feel guilty of the words that I write. Unlike spoken words, written words I can take back…or even delete. Writing has helped me to get through a lot of the struggles and problems that life contains. And it’s something that I can do anytime and anywhere, which really helps to capture my thought at that very moment.

  1. Yep, I can understand this. I can write things in a blog which I would find incredibly difficult or impossible to express aloud, so long may we blog! 🙂

    1. I actually journal more than I blog, but have found blogging to be another avenue to express my thoughts and feelings…and just love it! Honestly, I wish I had much more time for it.
