Daily Thought

Doppelgänger Alert

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/doppelganger-alert/

You step into an acquaintance’s house for the first time, and discover that everything — from the furniture, to the books, to the art on the wall — is identical to your home. What happens next?

Isn’t that what the Stepford Wives was about? I think I would feel as if I just stepped into the 2014 version of that movie! I cannot imagine, but I also know that this couldn’t possibly happen…except in Hollywood!

We are all to unique to even think of such a thing. Besides…who would even want to be like me? And I like me enough to not want to be exactly like you! Like yourself for who you are. We all have such wonderful qualities. We are all one of a kind. Embrace that.

Local Color

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/local-color/

Imagine we lived in a world that’s all of a sudden devoid of color, but where you’re given the option to have just one object keep its original hue. Which object (and which color) would that be?

Don’t we already live in a world that is black and white? In our hustle and bustle of this and that, do we even notice what is around us? Do we even stop to take in it’s beauty?

This question comes during our autumn season, in which the leaves change colors. It’s such a beautiful thing to witness. You go from seeing just green hues to hues of red, orange, and yellow. Winter seems to have that black and white hue to it. Not much color. But when you see something of color against the backdrop of the winter white snow, you find such beauty.

One object…to hard to pick just one. However, I would wish for the birds to keep their color. I love watching the birds land on the feeders, and their chirps bring me such happiness. I would be sad if birds suddenly had no color. A close second would be the flowers. I would miss the color all the flowers bring.

Masks Off

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/masks-off/

We’re less than a week away from Halloween! If you had to design a costume that channeled your true, innermost self, what would that costume look like? Would you dare to wear it?

I kind of giggled at this post. For years now, I haven’t worn makeup, dyed my hair, painted my nails, etc…because I always felt (for me exclusively) that I wore those things as masks to hide my true identity.

I feel so free without any of that. I’m me. There is no hiding who I am. You see me for who I am. And for the most part, I have never felt shunned by anyone. I’m accepted for exactly who I am. And I’d want it no other way!

On a little side note, I’m going to participate in the November photography 101 challenge. It will be different to simply post a photo versus writing a post, but I hope that you will still follow me. It will be a first for me and I’m looking forward to changing things up a little! If you want to join in, click here for all the details.

Grand Slam

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/grand-slam/

The World Series starts tonight! In your own life, what would be the equivalent of a walk-off home run? (For the baseball-averse, that’s a last-minute, back-against-the-wall play that guarantees a dramatic victory.)

Did anyone else think of the breakfast platter at Denny’s? 🙂

The title and description are a tad confusing. A grand slam is a home run with the bases loaded. A walk-off home run would be a home run by the home team in the bottom of the ninth inning or later in which the game is won. Now…this could also be a grand slam, but the bases would have to be loaded. Ok…now onto the actual prompt.

As for a grand slam in my life…well, I think it’s just the fact that I wake up each morning and am given the beauty of another day. Maybe that day isn’t everything I want it to be, but it’s never really been about me anyway. I just continually choose to make it that and then wonder why things don’t go right.

I have a second blog on faith, although I haven’t touched it in a while, but I’ll just say that God’s grace, love, and mercy are the biggest grand slams we could ever ask for. And as hard as it is to go on some days, I’m grateful He gives me the strength to carry on. He’s always batting for me…I just need to run the bases.
